Me with the ski side on the ground!

Embarrasing moments. . .

So, you know how everyone has these embarassing slapstick moments that they can recall for decades after they happen? My personal favorite was from high school. . .I was walking down the hall outside the cafeteria in my Sassoon jeans and wooden clogs, trying to look cool. I decided that it would look super cool if I opened both swinging doors at the end of the hall from the middle at the same time and walk on through. Problem was, I forgot there was a big, metal, doorframe that ran between them. I walked headlong into it and knocked myself backwards on my ass. In front of the WHOLE cafeteria. God, it still makes me cringe.

So my latest embarassing moment doesn't have quite the scale, but it's pretty funny. Jason and I went up to Maine last weekend and rented snowmobiles for the day on Saturday. There are thousands of miles of groomed trails up there, and we basically drove a couple of hours to this lakeside town for lunch, warmed up a bit, and then drove back to the lodge where we rented the "sleds." As we are pulling up next to the lodge, I decide I am going to show off (note to self: you pretty much wind up making an asshat of yourself whenever you try to look super cool) and make a tight turn into the parking area. So I gas it, lean hard right, and start turning. . .except the back end hits a patch of ice, starts sliding, and then the outside ski catches a patch of snow, and whee! I am flippin my sled right over! I landed on my ass (are we seeing a trend here?) and knocked the wind out of myself, luckily, the sled was undamaged.

I get inside, hoping that no one saw what happened, and the first thing the guy says to me is "I saw that" with this big shit-eating grin on his face. Busted again. At least it wasn't in front of the high school.

Best Boyfriend Ever deserves this!

Snowed out?

I still am working on figuring out what the purpose of this blog will be over time, but today I thought I'd post a message and picture for Jason. Jason is definitely the Best Boyfriend Ever, for driving me to Laguardia yesterday, even though he really wanted to ride his motorcycle around on the ONE day that it was warm and snow-free enough to ride. Of course it's supposed to start snowing tonight in New York (it is already snowing here in Indianapolis). At any rate, he has earned at LEAST one completely complaint-free day of riding any motorcycle he likes around in the woods even if there is something else I really want to do on that particular day. And it's here in a public format so he can feel free to remind me.

Anyway, it just figures that it's going to snow while I'm here in Indy, especially when I am supposed to fly in on Thursday night. The weather channel is tracking the storm system and all reports say anywhere from 4 to 12 inches of snow by Thursday night. NOOOO! I don't wanna have to stay here (even in the Westin's heavenly beds) another night! I want to go home and hang out with my BBE!

Anyway, baby, if you're reading this, I love you, and miss you, lots and lots. Talk soon.
