Weigh in!
So, yesterday was Kaia's two month well-baby checkup, postponed from last week (because I had to fly to Cincinnati). I had erroneously promised her that there would be no shots at this checkup! She was her normal delightful self during the checkup - talking to the doctor, kicking and smiling. She weighed in at 11 pounds 11 oz - moving her from the 50th percentile in weight to the 75th - which now matches her height percentile (she's 23 inches now). Getting so big!
Scott (her doctor) said that she's very alert and responsive for 9 weeks, with excellent head control and arm strength. That tummy time is working! He predicted she'd be rolling over soon (probably the first time we leave her on the changing table unattended).
She had to get three (!) shots. The doctor doesn't give the shots, a nurse comes in afterwards with all of them lined up on a tray (such big needles for such a little girl!) The poor little thing didn't see it coming. . .all smiles one second and then OWWaaaaah! I wanted to cry myself, seeing her little face all red like that. MY POOR BABY!
Anyway, she survived just fine, and came home to charm her Granny Adams (sounds like an apple, right?) who came to visit while in town interviewing.
