3 month weigh in

Somehow I completely missed the 3 month mark - actually, it was pretty easy to do, given everything that was going on that week. Jason was busy moving his mom and grandmother up, and I was home with babygirl. But we just had our 3 month well baby check up with the doctor and Kaia is now weighing in at 14 pounds! She's officially doubled her birth weight, which is a milestone of some sort (although I don't remember the significance).

She's definitely doing a lot more interacting with us, and little things like being able to be distracted from crying with a new toy or change of scenery is a welcome change. She's still sleeping pretty well, although every few nights she'll wake up in the middle of the night again - with very little predictability. Jason is wrapping up the last few shows of the year at the Bardavon this week, so pretty soon he'll be able to spend a little more time with Kaia and I may be able to get out and do some Christmas shopping at last!

Kaia is also giggling - a new thing, which is incredibly cute, and just yesterday passed a toy from one hand to the other (another developmental sign). But the pediatrician has suggested a little more tummy time, since she's not really working to roll herself over yet. Tummy time will also help her develop the back and shoulder muscles she'll need to be able to sit up on her own.

This morning, I put her into the little white star wrap that Coulter and Julie gave her, and it's just about the most adorable thing ever. She was all smiles and giggles, I think she liked it too. When Jason gets home tonight we've got to take some pictures.

Anyway, she's now officially 15 weeks and two days old - still 75th percentile in height and weight. I sure love my little girl!
