The first motorcycle diary
Well, no, I am not actually on a motorcycle, yet. Six days and counting down until we leave for the real vacation - to Costa Rica. We've rented two Kawasaki's and will head south almost immediately from San Jose heading to one of the "last great wild places" (according to Outside Magazine) - the Osa Penninsula. Monkeys and birds galore, plus if you're lucky, sloths, ocelots (!), and anteaters. Oh, and alligators (yikes!). I am refusing to even think about the bugs. PLEASE let there not be big spi. . .no, I am not even going to say it. Shudder.
I'm a little rusty I am sure on the off-road skills. Luckily for me, Jason is fearless and in the worst case I just abandon bike for whatever scary stretch I am not willing to do and make him come back for my bike. Hopefully I won't have to do that at all, but at least it's a fallback position.
Rainy here in South Carolina, but 70 degrees. Not much to do in Myrtle in the off season, except for the strip bars. It's a possibility, but most of the talent leaves with the tourists. We'll have to find some other way to amuse ourselves. . .
